Default Motul 8100 Xcess

Best oil hands down. What i use for my 4.2. Just wanted to throw that out there for the ones still using Casterol, Total and Mobil 1.

What makes it the best and where do you get it from?

Motul makes fine oils. I'm not sure I could categorize one oil as being the "best". How are you quantifying that? What is making it the best? Its cost?

Is "Casterol" a new player in the market place? I don't think I know them?

The ticking noise i use to have with a cold start up when i used Mobil 1 or Castor Oil is gone since ive started using Motul. Since Mobil 1 was reformulated i stopped using their oil. Id highly recommend it for the 4.2 engines. I feel its a different car when i use it. Sounds and feels better at idle and most importantly burns the least about of oil compared to Mobil 1.

And yes i meant Castor Oil lol not Casterol

I purchase it from Amazon for about $85 (free shipping) for 10 Liters, 4.2 takes 8.9 Liters.

I could go to Mobil 1 and get an oil change for $60. But i like to DIY, i don't trust the kids at Mobil 1 that are barely 21. and i dont trust the Audi stealership by my house. First oil change i had was at the stealership and they broke my fluid cap for the coolant and wouldnt take blame for it. So i F*** em all.

I don't have a ticking noise but I'll try Motul and see what it does, I am about to do an oil change. Can you paste the link where you get yours from?
