MMI Bluetooth Streaming Audio
#21
I installed the xcarlink today and it works perfect. I already had a Blackberry Audio Gateway for another vehicle to use with it. 9 screws and 4 connections to add a bluetooth AUX IN is not too bad. Thanks for the tip.

Nice... Enjoy your S6. Don't worry I ordered all three items two weeks ago and still waiting for the xcarlink. I did get the BB Music Gateway and mini-USB hardwire.

Streaming bluetooth
Hi everyone. I have a 2006 A6 4.2 with MMI, Nav and cd changer in the glovebox. I use a Zune because its simply a better service than ipod. I want to have an aux jack and bluetooth streaming. What do I need to achieve this and will it work with the phone bluetooth as well?

I'll be doing a writeup on this soon including links to the necessary hardware. I will be removing it from my A6, getting it ready for installation in my new s6 and will take pictures of the install. I expect to do this fairly soon... next few days.

It works seamlessly with the phone bluetooth. When a call comes in, the bluetooth audio is muted, and picks back up after the call.

What is the sound quality like with the BB Audio Gateway? I read both good and bad reviews. Thanks.

Please Help
I just finished installing my xcarlink I received last week. The install was not too bad considering I am new to Audi and not too familiar with this systems. I fastened the xcarlink to the back plastic plate behind the glove box.
Once I put everything back together I turned on the MMI but now the MMI seems to be in a constant boot up loop with the (Audi Multi Media Interface) start up screen over and over again, now the MMI does not work I connected the xcarlink fiber connection to the side marked as going out from the CD Changer connector. What did I do wrong? Another thing I am considering is the fact that my MMI has not been updated and is on version 10.7.0 0437.

I think you must restore the "MOST" loop. Depending on your install, with or without the cd changer, you shoul keep a continuous loop for the fiber light for the MOST to work. Reconnect the fiber to the changer and see if the MMI boot up properly. If it does, you are doing something wrong, or the install instructions are not detailed enough.
