Default Long shot - does anyone know if the 18"x8" C5 RS6 wheels will fit on the C6 A6?

I need to order new tires for the 17" wheels that came on my 2006 A6 Avant and am debating winters vs all seasons. I have an extra set of RS6 wheels with all season tires on them; if they'll fit then I could run them in the summer on the A6 and get dedicated winter tires for the A6 rims. Otherwise I'll probably just get all seasons because I just got rid of 4 sets of wheels and am trying to stop hoarding them.

For reference these are the wheels I'm talking about:

Those will work just fine, I believe the offset is +35, but it'll say that on the inside of the rim and you can verify. They have the same bolt pattern and are 18x8.5.

If wheel-size.com's data is accurate, they might stick out beyond the fenders:

I was hoping to avoid have to actually go out and test-fit one, but that seems like a good idea...

If they don't fit, maybe I'll try to find a narrower rim for the A6 winter tires. The RS6 really skates around on the 8.5" rims in the snow.

you'll be fine since we've had folks run +29mm 9" wheels and not had issues

is there no issue with +35 offset vs the +48 it comes with, or a +45 wheel? I was looking at a set of +35 but in one post someone said that much of an offset was not good for the car... Maybe they don't know what they are talking about. I need summer rims too.

You need to provide more info than just the offset. What is the width of the rims, such as 19x9. But for 8.5 rims an offset of +35 works just fine.

I was looking at 18x8s, but I guess i'm interested in a range between 18x8 and 19x8.5.

What corresponding range of offsets could I go with, the upper being +48, down to +26?

Depends on a few factors: is your car lowered? What width of wheel? Like I mentioned before, we've had people run 9" wide and +29, so you have quite a bit of play. Personally I'm not a fan of any extreme, so go with something between +30 & +45 and you'll be happy.

Here's one of 20x9 w/+32 offset: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-...stion-2865361/

If you were running 8.5 a +29 would be zero issues. Here's the thread on the person running +29: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-.../#post24681061
