Default led license bulbs

I know someone was having problems with led license plate bulbs firing but can't find the thread. Standard bulb on the left and the led on the right works. Both led's and a blink then neither work. Tried turning both bulbs to chech polarity and nothing seems to do the trick. Hopefully someone remembers the trick to getting them to work!

Thanks,
Bob

The leds for licence plate light need a parallel check-resistor for more power consumption otherwise the control-module turns the leds off.

I am not sure what the above is about with resistors. I am a accountant; lol so completely lost. I do know that http://rapidshare.com/files/33022570...part1.rar.html

which i bought on eBay works on my A6 with no errors. I have only had them for 3 weeks so I can't speak for long term durability.

I'll do some more checking this weekend. Sure would suck if you couldn't use the led's without some modification to the car.

Take a look at this thread: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...+license+plate

I ordered mine from the ebay link on that thread and they work without any problems.

PYSpeed.com has lights as well. I don't know if they will work on our cars or not.

Just make sure your car is off, doors closed, and that no juice is sent to the lights.

I'm running a set in mt License plate and have been for months. They work fine. They were ordered form ebay. I have a thread somewhere with the ones I purchased. I will try to look for them.

I did have to tip them quite a ways up or they were extremely bright.

Just an FYI on the Pyspeed (Racing Dash) LED License Plate Lamps:

I ordered a set of these several months ago, not wanting to mess with resistors and such, since they were supposed to be plug and play. They are complete replacement housings, and are in fact plug and play. I had no "bulb out" warnings or errors, and they worked great and looked awesome. But what I discovered this morning was that for some strange reason, the LEDs flash randomly when the car is on and the lights are off. Needless to say, I will be replacing them with the original incandescent license plate bulbs later today, and abandoning my quest for LED license plate lamps.
