Has anyone been able to replace the trunk light bulb with LED bulb?
I swapped the bulb with LED bulb and I lost power to the trunk with following error:
Part No: 1K0 951 605 C
Component: LIN BACKUP HORN H03 1301
1 Fault Found:
01565 - Luggage Compartment Light (W3)
009 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00101001
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 19
Reset counter: 33
Any suggestion? beside "just use the regular bulb"

I presume you've got a Sedan? You probably have to fit a led with T10 socket to make it work.
The post before me is also very usefull!

I replaced it. It's little tricky and kind of threw me off at first. Trunk uses the same bulb as you glove box. When I replaced my glove box bulb to LED, works no problem. I go to my trunk, replace the bulb and it doesn't work. I flip it around, still doesn't work. I put my old bulb in, still no luck. I thought I blew a fuse or fried something. Then I turn the car off, lock it, come back from the store, trunk light works again. I take it out, replace with LED (making sure - and + are in correct positions, lock the car. Wait few minutes, open the trunk and everything works like a charm ever since. Sounds stupid but worked for me. '08 A6

That is exactly what mine did at first. i would open the trunk and the light will go off. May be it is a bulb issue. I have 2 different bulbs from different manufactures (both LED). Tomorrow I will switch in between and see if one specific works or both. I will let you know.

Originally for side markers but they are all the same.
