A6 C6 2005 Parking sensors FR and REAR
Still can't get the ******* things to work, even after 3 trips to local franchise. Have fitted new (S/H) control unit (which was matched to the car by the dealer) , and new, new (pattern) sensor to rear o/s outer, but still dead as a dodo. Does the new sensor need to have fault codes cleared (yet again) before it will work?
I tried that nonsense of listening to the sensors for a ticking sound as described across www - either I'm more deaf than I thought or that's just a hoax. Doesn't work on my Saab 9-3 either and the sensors are ok on that.
PS
Getting the rear bumber off isn't the 20 minute breeze as described somewhere here. Took me over an hour just to get it off, and then the ********* sensors still don't work.
Aaarrrrggggghhhhhhhhh!

It's not a hoax.. and it might be possible you can't hear it even if it does make a sound. It's a really low frequency.
I turned my ignition off and put it in reverse(and than parking brake). Went outside and listened for the ticking sound. Found two sensors that I heard nothing from and replaced them with original parts. Now they all work perfectly.
But I also know these are complicated cars and not all issues have the same obvious solution.
Good luck.

Thanks for that- I'll give it yet another try following your advice. I'm determioned to beat these things. If Mrs P hits any more bollards, fences etc, we're gouing to need new bumbers too..................
