Default Firewall Leaky cam cover

Anyone have any experience with Leaking Cam covers (rear of engine by firewall)? Got an appointment to take it in next week and wanted to make sure I know what to expect. Are there any updated parts?

thanks,

Nothing major. They will remove the covers, clean them and apply new sealant the put them back.

Thanks! dropped the car off to the dealer yesterday for them to check it out. I'll keep you guys posted. In the mean time I'm enjoying the a6 3.0t they gave me as a loaner. the torque is unreal! MMI has some nice updates but other controls I like better on my car.

Just got my quote. Leaky Cam Covers and the valve cover gasket needs to be replaced. ~$1500. About what I expected from reading other posts on different forums. I'll post details after I get the car tomorrow.

Ended up needing a valve cover gasket and having the cam covers (rear) resealed. Audi Club discount saved me big. Total was just under $1400.

Wanted to give an update and also get some advice.
The car was still leaking when I got it back. The dealer re cleaned everything and put a die in the oil to assist in finding the leak. Turns out it's also leaking at the bottom rear cam cover (~$4000 ($1kparts/3K labor) job requiring the tranny to be removed). I'm disappointed they didn't find it when I spent $1500 fixing the upper and valve cover gasket. Car is probably only worth $6-8K. Called Audi of America and they were able to get me a discount of $500 of the work, but I'm still bitter about it. Dealer said it's common. I think they used an inferior gasket.
Not sure what to do. Not leaking a lot that I have to add every week, but oil leaks usually don't get smaller.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob.

only thing you can do is find a trust worthy Indy and save some on the labor.

How bad is it leaking? You might think about driving as is and adding oil every so often, do the math, then you're hoping the leak will not get much worse.

Not leaking bad in terms of volume. Ya much cheaper to buy oil and driveway cleaner than to repair by far.
