Since my car is lowered on coil overs, I actually drive my car onto a pair of 2x6s and have enough clearance to reach down an pull the flap back and simply push the qwik valve to release the oil. So far I've gotten my hands slightly oil once, but that's it.

As for the qwik valve accidentally releasing...I'd say it would be near impossible to happen. This thing is a extremely well engineered and I actually couldn't possibly imagine how a pothole or anything for that matter would release it. It requires a movement and lock of the lever which if you hit something that knocked the qwik valve with that much force, then I think you'd have bigger issues...perhaps the entire bottom of the engine being ripped up
