Anyone else? Sometimes 2-3 seconds.

Same here, I posted a thread on it a while back.

Took the car in for a manual carbon cleaning - didn't help
Replaced the fuel filter - didn't help
Replaced the battery (it was 6yrs old so it was time anyway) - didn't help

Took it to another dealer today to have them look at it. Apparently they performed some adaptation, which might have been this: http://uberlame.com/a6_tsb/Engine/En...ong%20Time.pdf and it apparently fixed the issue. I have tried following the TSB myself before, but it wasn't really working for me.

At one point they also thought it might be a leaky injector, but they tested the injectors and all was fine.

I'll let you know tomorrow when I start the car in the morning if the adaptation they performed really fixed the problem, I certainly hope it did!

Starting the car this morning I have to say that I'm disappointed because I don't think what ever the dealer did really helped.

I'm going to take a quick video next time I'm starting the car cold. carwash, can you do the same so we can compare?

I can, but I can't promise it will do it. Sometimes it fires right up, other times its a long crank.

With mine it typically only if it's been standing for 8h+, like when first starting it in the morning.

I have this too. Tried all of maintenance items you did and same problem. On cold starts it does it every time, when engine is warm it becomes a some times thing. I gave up and forgot about it by ignoring it but if anyone has any idea on how to cure this or explain why this happens please help.

i always had 3-5 sec crank when cold...on all my cars....you find it not normal??..
when my car is hot it starts direct...but when cold...i count it to start later...never see that as a issue..

I have that but I too consider it to be normal behavior for a cold start.

It's not a carbureted engine. There is no need for extended crank even on coldstart regardless of temperature et cetera. Especially on a car with fuel delivery technology as amazing as this car.
