I need to replace the master window switch. Most directions that I've seen says it pops if I insert screwdriver into small hole under the armrest but that would not work on my version (see pics).

Does anyone know how to get to the switch? If I have to remove the door panel can anyone provide instructions?

I have done this on my A6. Quite an easy job. You will need to remove the door card yes (well i did in my case anywho). If I can remember right:

1. Remove the seal around the door.

2. Remove the wooden trim. Peel it from the back was where I found it easiest. Careful not to break the clips holding it in place

3. Remove the screw/screws (not sure how many hold it here).

4. Start tugging the door card. I started from the bottom and start pulling toward you to loosen the door from the clips. Work your way around the entire door card. When you have the door card all unclipped, lift up the way to remove the top part from under the window.

5. When door card is removed, unclip all wires.

6. Now you need to remove the handle part from the door card. Several screws hold this on. So just have a look around for screws and that should looen it.

7. This should enable you to remove the switch and make the change.

NOTE: you only need to remove the lower half of the seal. I cant edit the post to fix this.

Do you know if this is the same lock switch as the A4?
