What is the difference in performance? I am about to lease an A6. Live in Florida and was told by two dealers that quattros are almost non existent in Florida.

I saw more Audi's when I was in Florida for spring break vacation (Key Biscayne Ritz) then I see here in DC.

I'm in Jacksonville and I would only buy a Quattro.
The dealer had FWD's at a much cheaper price but it was the Quattro or nothing. You yourself know about the massive monsoons we get in the "sunshine state". Nothing is better in bad weather. Check out Crown Audi in Clearwater.
