Confused about battery warranty
I have read through hundreds of threads about batteries and warranties but i cannot figure out what the real warranty is.
My battery died and the car is not even 2 years old yet! I thought a battery should last at least 3 years ... i think its kind of ridiculous especially since it was a new car and they are quoting me 250 for a new battery @ the dealership ... i will go elsewhere if it comes down to that.
Is the battery covered under the 4/50000 warranty or does it have its own 12/12000 warranty, or is it prorated after a certain time period?
The car is a 06 A6 w/ Navi, w/ 20,000 Miles.
Thanks in advance!

I have always had success at getting any battery replaced under the factory warranty.
Did not know that there was any exceptions, unless you shorted the battery while jumping someones car?
That said, I have a practice of replacing my batteries every 5 years no matter how good in seems to be.
I recall having two batteries replaced under warranty. Once for my ML500 and ones for my A6.
