Think that you're looking at the tail lights in their entirety. The lamps on the bootlid create a visual differentiation. The workshop manager has changed his tailamps and bootlid. That was it. Suggest you look at it again and have it measured.

I guarantee changing the bootlid wont work. The new one has 90 degree angled corners whereas the old one has a diagonal cut in the corner. So there is no way just changing the bootlid would work, they're differently shaped. If he put on the whole set of new lights he would have to change the bumper cap. Just look at the shape of the new and old bootlids, they require new bumper caps as well to work. Somebody's full of something (manager). just look at pics and anyone can see.

If those headlights fit on my non-xenon'd '06 A6 3.2Q, i'd love to get some part numbers.

for sure the tails wont fit without a new boot-lid and rear bumper but who cares...we want headlamps
