Shoot www.genuinevwaudiparts.com an email. He has a kit. It was under $40 I think. I just fixed mine. The latch was broken like your picture. Pretty easy repair. Very annoying to lift the armrest and have the contents dump out.

Glad I came across this thread. My '06 doesn't even have a release lever. It was like that when I got it less than 2 months ago. I'll need to get one. Oh, and the sun visor holder. It seems like those break easily too.

Yes, but the SunVisor clip is an even easier fix...And cheaper.

Mine broke too two years ago.
I remember it breaking from my older 2004 A4 too.

Bad Audi design and lucky if it is at least covered under warranty!!

Is it? I broke my driver side one within the first month of having the car and the dealer quoted me something like $100.

I would greatly appreciate any help!

Default Easy DIY w Pics

Bringing this tread back to life with some detailed pics

there is is a kit P/N 4F0–898–173 (4F0898173B6PS is for black not sure for other colors) which includes the latch piece
but this is P/N just for latch 4F0 864 245 or 4F0864245/4
but KIT is same price

here is one @ eBay

with TONS of doubt i tried some superglue...the 1st 10 seconds it wound not bond but then i started to feel some clinging...i let it sit while i ate dinner... i could not believe how strong it bonded... with decent pressure w my fingers it the bond held but 3 days later it broke... time to order the kit

Don't bother trying to glue the broken latch back together, because I had tried many strongest glues, but nothing held more than a day of regular armrest cover usage.

The only permanent solution is to buy that armrest cover repair kit as shown in earlier posts.
