Default Castrol 0w40 at walmart

I went to my local Walmart to pick up a couple MObil 1 0w40, 5quart containers and they only had one in stock. Right next to it I found Made in Germany , Castrol edge (formally sytech) 0W40, European formuala, 5quart for $25 so I picked up two. It says at the back that meets vw 502.00 505.00 Great deal, I hear great stuff about castrol 5w30 so a thicker one than that should be even better? Or is it? Don't want to start another oil war, but I also got a MityVac and I'm thinking about doing an oil change tomorrow, I would like a second opinion should I wait till they restock it with MObil 1?

P.S. It does not show on the website but you will find it on the shelves

As long as it states the 502.00 spec, you're done. You don't need to over-think it, Roy.

I have always used Castrol 5w-40 in my A8....it is what my Audi dealer uses. I never found the 0w-40 around me though, but as long as it meets the standards, you're good.
