A/C Help Needed.
It was 90+ degrees here in NJ.
My 2005 4.2Q always had ice cold A/C but problems started this week.
When the car is standing still and engine is idling A/C has no cold air at all but when car is running (on the highway even at 1,500~2,000 rpm) A/C is back to normal.
I thought at first that is was the Refrigerent running low and so I purchased a re-charge kit which consists of a pressure meter and can of 134a at Wal-Mart.
Hit the A/C to MAX A/C (LO in our case) and attached the meter to the LOW PRESSURE PORT in the engine room (it's the thick pipe on the driver's side with a black valve cover) (This is according to the manual of the KIT)
Normal pressure is supposed to be 45~55psi at 90 degrees but I am gettting a reading of 110psi. WTF~
Should I be looking for a new compressor or could it be anything else?
I have seen here on this forum that there is a pressure valve that could be failing.
Your experiences would definitely help.
Thanks in advance.

How long was the air conditioner on when you took your reading? Also the gauges provided with those kit are not the best. You should see the pressure drops as the system stabilizes itself.
