Default Brake Rotors

Hello, I own a 2009 A6 w/18" wheels--I need to replace the rear brake pads and rotors. I'm looking for recommendations on the rotors--I don't want to go with oem rotors. I am going to put a set of akebono pads on. Thanks for the help.

Having a hard time finding Brembo's, I'm leaning towards Zimmerman's--any experience with these?

Mig, you can't go wrong with Stoptech rotors. Although I haven't used HPS, I've heard good things about them. How's the dust with the slots?

Focus on the front more so than the rears. Changes up front will make more difference than the rear. I use stock rotors and Pagid in the rear. Zimmerman with Minted Red in the front. They stop great but cleaning is a bear, and when you stop, you stop, not gently. Stoptech with HPS should be excellent.

I just replaced the rotors and pads on my '05 A6. I am now a huge fan of the Zimmermann coated rotors. These don't rust, so the entire assembly just looks really clean behind your wheel.

On the advice of others, I paired them with Wearever Gold ceramics from Autozone. Yep, Autozone. After bedding in this setup I've been really impressed. $270 for the whole deal.

I bought the rotors from Amazon.

Amazon Amazon

Zimmermann coated front rotors, 321mm, Amazon $123.86
Zimmermann coated rear rotors, 302mm, Amazon $81.83
Wearever Gold ceramic pads, front, GNAD 1359 $34.40
Wearever Gold ceramic pads, front, GNAD 1108 $28.67

my past 2005 a6 and current 2011 had oem rotors and pads
2005 seemed really bad w dust
2011 seemed a bit better but still bad
after reading a bunch i decided this was best setup for me

i could have gone ceramic pads but these HPS were a better performance balance for me

i heard they last a long time but were hard and ate up some softer rotors but stop techs are damm hard and a great match

ran this set up on my 2005 and i was impressed on performance and reduction in dust
i was really impressed on how long they lasted

drilled rotors look cool but i dont need that much heat dissipation and wanted the extra rotor real estate for pads to grab on

again great replacement upgrade to oem

By the way, if you decide on Brembo rotors, I have the Brembo 25661 rear rotors if you're interested. I have no use for them since they won't fit my car and no one locally wants them. They're brand new and never been put on. If you're interested, PM me and we can talk!

I'm very happy with my Adam's Rotors and Akebono Ceramic pads. The option of choosing the rotor design was a big plus for me.
