Default '06 Avant Sirius Linking Problem

New member here: Just acquired high mileage (182K) but very well maintained '06 A6 Avant. One issue that is bugging me is Sirius connection which spends a lot of time in "Linking" mode. Even in nearly crystal clear conditions yesterday it spent much of it's time Linking! The previous owner recently had the clogged sunroof drain issue which took out the Telephone module and caused the MMI to malfunction. He had the dealer clear the drains & replace telephone module and MMI/Radio/Telephone seem to be operating OK. I'm wondering whether I should be thinking about replacing the shark fin antenna or if there is an updated Sirius or XM module that might relieve the problem. I think the MMI is up-to-date and will include it's readouts below. I do have VAG-Com if that is helpful in troubleshooting this problem TIA

On the Avants of this vintage there was a problem with water leaking into the area with the Sirius radio module. (Left rear wheel area) I also recall that replacing the Sirius radio module was $$$ vs. the XM radio module (now with virtually the same programs) was $. Good luck.

Thanks, this problem occurred and was documented in the service records. The Bose amp was replaced but not the Sirius unit. I'm thinking of changing to XM, not sure if XM reception any better,
