it was DVRed and i got to watch it this morning..
they even had the M5 at the end of the show .. 0-60 in 4.1 ??
for the S6 it showed 0-60 3.8 are those 2 figures right ???

I was thinking the same thing. Those 0-60 times seem too low. Those are times you would expect to see in Porsche Carrera's and high end exotics.

Those times are in line with what some car mag's have also seen.

What's surprising is that that superior traction of AWD helped the Audi beat the M5 to 60mph and as I recall, the 1/4 mile performance was on par, if not better too. And the Audi is about $20,000 less (base price vs. base price (plus gas guzzler for the BMW).

I took out a mate of mine's 2012 S6 and that thing really is a beast. I recorded a 0-60 sub 4, which was frighteningly quick! however, the car is so sedate and well built it actually makes it feel not as quick as you think it is. The thing seemed to handle is better and with less 'fuss' than my 4.2!

The S-6 was 3.8 sec to 60; quarter mile at 12.2sec/114mph. Mileage was 23.1 for their test. The M-5 was 4.4 sec to 60; quarter mile at 12.3 sec/117 mph, mileage was 17.3 for the same test.

The commentor stated something like the S6 performance being near M5 territory!!
