Need Info about my new car...
I just traded in my '05 A6 3.2 (a CPO) on a new(er) '08 A6 4.2 S-line.
First question:
IIRC, the S-line came in 2 levels - one cosmetic only and one with the sports suspension, etc. I am pretty sure this one has the sports suspension because a)it feels like it does, and b) the wheels/tires seem to fill out the wells a little more.
Is there any way to be sure? (it has tiptronic paddles on the wheel if that helps)
Second question:
Somebody recently posted asking if there was a site or a search engine that could pull up the original specs of your car given the VIN. The only reply was to try the MyAudi thing on Audi's website. It's useless - it seems to only allow you to put in info about your car, but it doesn't provide you with any. Any ideas?
Last question:
What year did Audi go to the rear-biased 60/40 center diff? I think it was when the car was "refreshed" in '09, but I'm not sure. Is it possible that such an option was available in '08?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
PS - I love this car even more than the last Audi I had, but I'm sad to say that dealing with their dealerships and with the company STILL sucks the eggs out of dead sea turtles. This is why even though I love Audis, I never recommend them to anybody. They really need to bone up on customer relations.

Some quick answers.
1) In '08 sport suspension was a stand-alone $500 option. All A6's came with S-Line exterior standard and it sounds like you have the S-Line interior option too. (Front sport seats with embossed S line logo, S line leather-covered multifunction sports steering wheel with shift paddles, aluminum door sills with S line badge, Gray Birch decorative inlays, black cloth headliner.)(You'd have to check the build sheet to see if you have the sport suspension option. See below)
2) VIN does not carry option information, just basic info (Country, model, build location, engine, year and serial number.) The build sheet in the trunk has the option codes which you can decipher on here or through Google.
3) Yes, 40/60 asymmetric rear-biased quattro started on facelift C6 in '09. It was not available on the '08s.

GK1,
Thanks for your help.
The CPO window sticker the car came with (not the original factory sticker) also lists Gray birch interior trim. The car, however, has
a carbon fiber console and brushed/ribbed metal trim on the dash and doors.
The build sheet is a good idea. Any idea what codes I'd be looking for on the sheet or where to look up or interpret the codes?
Thanks again.

Thanks.
I searched the forum with no results, but Google got me a link from Audizine
that is simply awesome. I'm posting it in another thread in hope that it gets stickied in the "resources" section.
BTW the sport suspension code is 1BE.
Here's the link. What comes up is a decoder, but a tab on the bottom lists all the Audi codes.
