Default Front Axle bolt torque on 05 4.2 ???

Changed my front wheel bearings yesterday with bearings ordered from from ECS Tuning. Was hoping the bolt tq. be in the instructions but was not. I hit the new bolts that came in the kit with 133 ft. lbs. and added 90 deg. Don't think I'd be able to go to 180 deg. as I had a 3ft pipe extension on my 1/2" breaker bar and it was flexing like a banana. Have to drive the car to work tomorrow, anyone know the Tq and extra twist at all????

Per the Bentley Manual, the four bolts (M12) that secure the wheel bearing housing, which are to be replaced after removing, are to be tightened to 80 N–m (59 lb–ft) plus an additional 90 degree turn. Since you have over tightened them, you should remove and replace with new bolts because the bolts have been stretched beyond their yield strength.

Thanks, but I'm talking about the big axle bolt that hold the axle on, not the bearing housing bolts.

Then that bolt is to be tightened to 200 N–m (148 lb–ft) plus an additional 180 degree turn. The Bentley Manual states to have someone press the foot brake with the vehicle is sitting on the ground while another tightens the bolt. When I changed the front crank bolt (which is specified to be tightened to the same) on my '96 A6, I tightened it first using my 150 lb–ft torque wrench, then using a 1/2" drive breaker bar + an extension from my floor jack to achieve the 180 degree turn (in two 90 degree segments). Did that several times.

OMG, If I have to get another 90* on it I'm going to need to use a 3/4 drive breaker. Your sure that's for the 4.2?

Thanks A6 Gary!
