I am thinking this because didn't they do that with the Phaeton for the A8? Or am I way off base here?

Default Yes, off base. CC is Passat chasis. Phaeton chasis different than A8. A8 is a laser welded
aluminum body. Phaeton is all steel of different design.

Default Hopefully Audi will not go back to platform sharing with VW
aside from SUVs (which are probably inevitable)
