Default A6 C5 Quattro 4.2 V8 rear exhaust questions

I'm aware that selling catalytic converters is illegal and I don't plan to sell them, but I'm curious as to why someone might want to buy the rearmost section of the exhaust including the center muffler and rear muffler. So far I've bought seven of these cars, all 2000/2001 models, and in each and every one, the exhaust sounds and looks fine, and seems to be the original -- which means that it's by now 16 years old or more.

The new-part price seems super-high and even eBay listing seem expensive to me, so I'm considering having my business sell this part in good used condition one day ... but I'm doing my homework first.

I'm curious as to who'd be interested. Maybe folks in the rust belt whose exhaust got eaten by road salt? I'm in the Nevada desert, where things are mostly bone dry, so I can't relate. Or, perhaps someone's car has an aftermarket exhaust and now wants to go back to the original sound?

One big issue is that in the two exhaust systems I've analyzed so far, both off 2000 model cars, they are one integral unit from the catalytic converter backward which would make it tedious to ship. On the official Audi engineering drawings, there's a break between the center muffler and the rear muffler but on the parts I analyzed from my cars, it's all one welded unit -- yet these are, as far as I can tell, the OEM units with the Audi stamp.

Your opinions are invited. Please guide me. Thank you!
