Will 235/50/17 Michelin Pilot Tyres fit on my A6?

Hi Audi Drivers,
I have a question for Audi dealers or drivers with 17" rims. I currently have an Audi A6 2.4 SE, which originally had 16" rims fitted from new. I then later changed these as they were getting slightly warn, so I switched to a set of S4 17" rims (6 spoke design). The car now looks fantastic. I have currently fitted the sport profile tyres 235/45/17 which Audi recommends, however I was hoping that when its time to change these tyres over I could fit 235/50/17 tyres. Does anyone know if these will fit? I realise that 55's won't fit because they are too tall but is this the same for 50's. I believe they would make a more comfortable ride and not so hard like the lower profile tyres. Any replies welcome...
