Default What's the average life of the front brakes?

I'm at 103k and still going strong. no noise, no warning lights on the dash.

I bought my A6 w/ 37k on it, and I doubt that the PO had r/r the brakes at that low a mileage.

Default I r/r the rears at 62k... and am an agressive-type driver.

I don't rally the car, however do push it. I'm happily surprized at the long-life of these brakes.

that having been said, they'll probally begin to fail sometime next week!

Default You need to

drive faster, brake later, and tailgate...that will solve that problem

Default Pad life is a function of both driving habits and hydraulic system maintaince. If calipers are all..

sludged up and guide pins are dry, pads will wear fast without a heavy foot. I regularly achieve >100K on the fronts and >150K on the rears.

Longer than rears, which you'll know are gone by the metal-on-metal scraping...

Not true, on a well maintained hydraulic brake system! But passive wear sensors are great!

Default About the same as the average piece of string!

Driving habits and style can mean anything between 10k and 100k.
