Default Yes, that will work. In the future, just past a web address in the box that

Default WAIT! - Harbor Freight tool will probably require modification

I purchased the same kit, and had to modify the base pad to be a thinner material in order to get the caliper to fit in the tool. If you have some 0.125" sheet stock you can trace and cut-out a new pad, and then it will work fine. I suppose you could also try grinding down the thickness of the piece in the kit.

Default So I take it a regualar C-clamp or channel locks won't work?? What exactly is this special tool

supposed to do?

are you saying the piece that slides over the T-handle is too big to fit in the caliper?

Yes, this piece had to be thinner for tool to fit inside the extended caliper.

Default I got mine from Harbor Freight, too, but it works fine with no modification.

The same part number as in GK's link

BTW, (surprise surprise!) it's for sale, if anyone wants it...
