There isn't really anything you can do that isn't going to cost megabux...
Perhaps a few more ponies from an exhaust system. If you want big power, you need a 2.7T. You can take those right up to 450hp with a stage 3 kit.

Well, if you want to replace the engine and transmission and brakes..
everything is possible. At that point you may just want to consider a new or different car - it might be cheaper.
The A6 with the 4.2 is well balanced with more than enough power for a daily drive.
