Default West of Boston area Indie recommendation for '04 4.2 Timing Belt Job

Guys,
My 04 A6 4.2 has 72K miles on it and I figure I should get the timing belt done sooner than later.
Normally I would dive in and do the job myself as I have on previous Audi's but I just don't have the time to do this one this time around.
Any good recommendations in the metrowest area that are competent and reasonable.
Thanks!!!
Dave

Default Any suggestions on a place closer to downtown Boston?

I have just under 72k on my '02 A6 and figure I'm going to have to do the same thing soon.

Also, any idea on what it might cost all-in?

I think the pre FSI engines require the nose to come off, approx. 8+ hours. I had it done on a 4.2 A8, for about 800 labor plus 600 parts at www.briansgarage.com

Default wow, 800+600? That's getting screwed

If you can't find a place to do it for $750 all in, you're not trying hard enough. It doesn't take 8 hrs to do it for a shop, just a lay person. I got my 2.7 done at the Porsche / Audi dealer for that, and I don't think the 4.2 requires much more effort.

You'd think a Porsche dealer that stocks carerra GTs would be a rip off, huh?
