Default A way to bypass secondary air pump??

Got a S6 that keeps getting a CEL in regards to low flow on the secondary air. Pump runs and it might go a month without coming on, even went off once, go figure.
Is there a way to "bypass" whatever sensor and keep the light from coming on? I live in a state without smog reqirements so that's not a problem. And yes I did search the archives.

Why not just fix the problem?

Default Agree with 4D4. New pump is only about $250 from the right source. Plus, the way

the pump is tied into the emissions systems, ecu, etc. I doubt you'll be able to succesfully bypass the pump. For $250 or so and a bit of work on your part you'll be better off just replacing the pump.

...and that's worst case. It might just be a damaged hose somewhere.

I just have a hard time replacing useless crap, let's face it it serves no purpose other than that it's there because of some EPA/Sierra club weanie thought that it will make a difference. There is probably more emissions tied to mfg., shipping, and diagnosing the darn thing than you save over the life of the car, it's plain stupid !!

I'm pretty neither the Sierra Club or EPA has anything to do with the pump

I'm pretty sure that Audi would not have put the pump in if there wasn't some requirement

Default Useless or not, fixing is much easier than trying to bypass. Its probably a vacuum hose

or a vacuum actuator on the front of the engine. You can find a schematic of the vacuum lines on Bentely and access them by popping off the engine cover. Fixed mine twice, neither time a big deal or expense.
