Default A tribute to Audi

When it rains, it pours. I bought my car and in 7,000 miles:

- replaced the transmission and all driveline
- replaced the timing belt and all associated parts
- repacked 10 CV joints
- replaced 2 transmission mounts
- replaced all aluminum and rubber in front suspension
- replaced one engine mount
- replaced nearly new, defective front brake pads
- broke 2 water pump bolts off in the block
- replaced cam seals, plugs, valve cover and cam tensioner gaskets
- still need to replace a ruined camshaft
- still need to fix sludging problems
- replaced exhaust flex pipes
- cleaned and repaired power steering system
- fixed leaks in washer system
- replaced lots of vacuum lines, still have leaks somewhere
- sealed leaks in cowl drain
- removed almost whole interior and dropped headliner twice
- still need to fix sunroof drains
- spent $1000 on wheels and tires
- am shopping for shocks and coils to replace my worn out ones

I've driven almost 8,000 miles and put almost $8,000 into the car since I bought it, but I've gotta say - now that it's finally reliable, I could not buy a better car for the money.

Sounds like you didn't properly inspect the car prior to purchase. I would never dump $8,000 in maintenance into a car.
