Transmission fluid type

Transmission fluid type
I recently purchased a 2000 Audi A6 Quattro with a 2.7t and an automatic TIP transmission.
I'm considering servicing the transmission & filter myself. I am wondering what type of fluid does the A6 transmission use? I know that Audi's are very specific from coolant to ATF fluid.
Which fluid type is most popular and which is best?
Thanks in advance.

Others have used Mobil 1 ATF, but I have no experience with that.

Fair disclosure, Lifetime Amsoil Dealer.
I'll probably go with Amsoil ATF when I do my filter/ATF change on the two V8s.
I remember when Amsoil came out with their trick shift fluid for Type F transmissions…absolutely fixed my BW37 POS 3-spd auto tranny on the OG Saab 900T. That car was boosted to about 25psi and the trans held for well over 250K miles….
And BTW, consider removing and checking the valve body per this:

regarding the plugged sensor input screen…do you think an ATF fluid and filter change should include pulling the valve body and checking for this screen plug?
Perhaps not if the transmission pan is a LOT more clean than his was, LOL.

Oreilly auto parts
Pentosin - Automatic Transmission Fluid
Part # ATF1-1L
Line: PNT
Same stuff Audi puts in there. They will probably have to order this but you'll find the price better than other options.
Good Luck

Thankyou guys for the replies
What are the best price options for the trans fluid?
& which type of Amsoil ATF for the audi? I know Amsoil makes different types of ATF for different applications. I've always been a beleiver of Amsoil

Hey, while we are on the topic of Audi Fluids.......COOLANT. I know Audi/VW's require specific coolant. SO...here's my question...
Can we use RedLine Water Wetter in our coolant? I have used this product in all of my hotrods. This product is a fantastic water pump luburcant and it helps decreased coolant temps by 10 deg. I don't want to add it unless it will work with my new car.
BTW, this is my first Audi/VW. I've always had chevy's for my hot rods.
Once again, thank you all for your help!

Check with redline. I think water wetter is compatible with all coolants.
