Time to go back to the 18's for Spring... what are your thoughts on splash gaurds.

In the archives, I saw that some of the rear splash gaurds do not fit properly, or need some adjustment.
Can anyone give me additional information on the following:
Narrowbody cars..and issues with rubbing if you have 235 or 245 tires?
What brand did you buy?
What fitment problems did you have?
How do you like the look? Pictures?
I figured when I am changing the wheels will be the best time to do this...

I'm generally a firm believer in splash guards but a friend of mine who's a
former A6 owner told me the guards made a huge drop in fuel economy because of drag. I know that sounds exaggerated but given my 4.2 is averaging 16.5 I'm not going to tempt fate. If I were to get some, I'd definitely stick to OEM. Not only is the fit guaranteed, it should be much easier to install too. As far as whether they'll rub the tires, if your overall diameter stays more or less the same, it shouldn't be a problem (as long as the guards are OEM).
Please correct me if I'm wrong. ;-)

have OEM on 2002 2.7 with sport suspension...
I wouldn't recommend them. Even with the sport suspension, I bottom them out when driving agressivily. They only sit 2-3 inches off the ground, and the sound they make dragging across the road is not a good one. I'm thinking about taking mine off if you want to buy them, make an offer.

Mine were OK until I lowered. I took the fronts off. Debating the rears.
The fronts looked OK with the higher suspension but with the Eibach set up they just look funny to me being that low. Here's a pick with the lowered suspension just before I removed the fronts.

Here's unlowered from a diiferent angle but you can get the idea.

I had mine pained body colour and they look great.
At lease now I can keep the car clean for more than a few minutes, after a wash ;-)

http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/10170/img_1586.jpg</a
