I have a creaking noise that comes from the driver's side front that is especially noisy when I drive over a bump, but also makes noise when I turn at very slow speeds (parking).

I've never trouble-shot steering or suspension noises before, but if this is something like a tie-rod end etc. that I could reasonably tackle myself, I'd like to give it a go.

I should add that it's especially noisy when the car has been dry for a few days. After a car wash or a rain, it's much more quiet.

Tie rod end or control arm.

it is those frigging control arms. lift the car up and try to shake the car. Try to find the one that is bad by inspecting the rubbers in the control arms.

I just did mine and it is all back to quiet now.
