My friend who is going to school to be a certified machenic will be working on the car at his school. His teacher is an Ex-Mercedes tech (26 yrs experience).
Will ask him to do a brake fluid flush as well.
Is there anything I need to tell him i-e I am guessing its all fairly simple and straight forward.
Looking forward to smoother and better brakes.

"I use ATE TYP200 for all my street cars, when I flush the brake fluid. I have it for $12/liter. However, it's not really any better than any good quality DOT 4 fluid you could buy at your local auto parts store. For example, you can get Valvoline SynPower DOT4 at most Pep Boys. Since brake fluid is cheap and heavy, it costs almost as much to ship as it does to buy - another reason you may wish to consider purchasing it locally.

As for amount of fluid, you can get by with a single 1-liter container. Your entire system only holds about 1/2 liter, so a 1-liter can will be enough for a complete flush."

Use the ATE superblue to flush out the existing fluid, and then next time flush with the clear Valvoline. It gives you a visual indication of when it was sucessfully flushed, if for no better reason.

You mechanic probably knows, but DO NOT let the master cylinder resevoir go dry when flushing. Bleeding air from the anti-lock brake module can be a real PITA.

Depending on how dirty your existing fluid is, 1 liter may be just enough, or not...
