Software and paperback!
Hi all,
I apologize as this question may have been asked numerous times before, but in my search I could not find any comprehensive info.If there is a FAQ link,I would be glad to get a link.I am considering purchasing some software and possibly the Bentley paperback manual, this shall be used on a'99 A6 Avant.
My question is;Which is better or which is/are the better to purchase of these and their differences in user friendliness;OBD II(or whichever is the relevant one),vag-com,alldata and e-bahn CD from Bentley and/or the paperback?
Or you can send me an e-mail and close this thread.
Thank you.

Bentley and VAG COM are the right combination. The paper version is nice (better pictures), but...
...doe NOT include everything the CD ROM version has, so it is not complete. The downside of the CD ROM is it is not easy to find what you are looking for. The search function is worse than the one here on AW!!!!

You get free periodic updates with the CD....I just downloaded several Meg of new stuff...you also
get the DTC Xpress tool, where you enter the DCT code and it guides you to the appropriate items to look at...very cool
