resonator is out! numbers show improvement...
Well, I made the trip over to Midas for removal of the resonator. After they looked at it, they wanted to charge me $100. I talked him down to 60 and consider it money very well spent. This is my second 60 dollar mod in the last two days; I did the Vast short shifter last night. I think they are both worth the cost.
The resonator didn't change the sound of the car at all as far as I can tell. It did wake it up a bit though. before having it done I did three runs in 3rd gear from 4k to 6k. With the resonator this took 4.9, 4.9, and 4.97. I did this by cruising at 4k and the flooring it at the same time that I started the stop watch. Pretty consistent then.
With the resonator removed and doing the same thing on the same road, it took 4.81, 4.52, 4.58 and 4.76.
So the average with resonator: 4.923
The verage without the resonator: 4.667
Not too bad for 60 bucks.

very nice, im doing a whole turbo-back system this week
so i cant wait to see the difference in that! i also recently got a SS and its great, i was worried about it being to "notchey" as some have complained about it but i figured it wouldnt hurt to try. man was that a great $50!!

i havent done it yet, its in the forcast for this week though...
i'm doing pippie pipes myself and having a 2.5" cat-back section bent up at a local miffler shop, because i dont have acess to a mandrel bender, with magnaflow mufflers and tips. Also going to be cutting out the bumper for the tips. i'm hoping i can get a good combination of performance (piggie pipes), sound (magnaflows), and look (tips with cut outs). Plus it beats droping $3000+ for aftermarket parts! once i get everything done i'll be sure to post a "results and impressions" discussion.
