replace 2.7T Cat-back with 4.2: worthwhile?
Greetings,
came across a cheap 4.2 S6 Cat-back system, and I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to put into my 2.7T allroad (6spd). Running stock with the exception of DV's. Any ideas on whether or not this makes sense? thanks in advance!

no.... if your looking for noise, just get new mufflers welded in.
if you want power, work on other mods first. other then maybe the slightest increase in throttle response, your not going to get much with a stock car. and when i say little, im talking very little on the stock car.
now if you want to start doing power modifications, then down the road, yes i could see gutting the pre cats. otherwise, stock exhaust is not super restrictive at all on the stock turbos.

On modern cars, exhausts rarely make much difference, unless you specifically want tpo make them louder. Even then you rend to get a monotonous drone on the highway that you later regret.

excellent-saved me a few hours and buzzing eardrums
..i do have plans for further mods down the road, but noise is the last thing i'm looking for. sounds like i'll need to build up the bankroll to get something worthwhile going. thanks all!
