Default Remote Start Questions

I'm considering putting a remote starter on my car. It is a 2000 A6 with 2.7t 6spd manual. Factory alarm and immobilizer installed.

I'd like to add remote starter. Then after doing some research I see that it's come quite a while since I've looked into this. My MAIN concern is just adding remote start, but it's not as easy as I thought with the manual transmission and the car's factory security system.

Has anyone done this? I would like some advice on good brands to go with. I also wouldn't mind the idea of the 2 way LCD remote and turbo timers that some of the upper line ones have but I don't want to spend an extra couple hundred on it.

Default bad idea...

1. you have to park in neutral.
2. you have to bypass the safety switch on the clitch pedal.
What happens if you forget to park in neutral and you start the car..Uh-oh!!

The electronics of an audi are damn weird. Lights show for one fault only to have something out of the blue trigger it in the first place.

To talk a remote starter on an audi is asking for major trouble.

Default Cheaper/easier to buy a hoodie. Step one: put it on. Step 2: start car. Step 3:

Take the hoodie off.

Default I don't know of anyone that will do a complete install on a manual car.

Most of them leave a few wires disconnected, and make you do the rest. They don't want to be held responsible for any accidents that may occur as a result of the install.
