2002 4.2. Over surface streets I can hear a rattling/squeeking sound which sounds like it's coming either from the rear view mirror or the courtesy light/sunroof switch area. Pressing on various surfaces, holding the mirror, etc. has no effect. Does anyone have any ideas? I did a search already. Thanks.

More likely the sunroof. Open the sunroof all the way and see if the rattle persists.
Also check the little wind deflector (if your car has øne) that pops up in the front øƒ the sunroof opening.

Mine was doing the same. I removed the swicth panel and opened a little more the metal fasteners. Reintalled firmly and the noise was gone. With time and use, metal fasteners tend to bend.
Play with your switch panel. If it feels loose, try the procedure above.
