Default One more fix before I toy with the idea of mods

I need to get the control arms replaced...and after that I will start researching the chips for my 2.7t. My indy mech qouted me 1,500.00, and I may be stuck with that option because I don't know anyone here in Atlanta that has the mech know how to help me changes them out. Sure wish I did though. I am very seriously looking into the Revo chip...but until the CA's are done its just a thought. Sorry I this isn't all that interesting...just wanted to speak my mind.

Do the tie rods ends at the same time and take a good look at the CV boots.

1,500 to do the control arms?! that's expensive.... you could get the whole 13 pc kit on ebay for $400 and get the whole thing installed for around the same. For a 1000 you should be good to do your whole front end...

DIY should be around $500 - just some food for thought if you are considering getting your hands dirty.

My main concern is that I want the job done right...and I don't mind paying for good work. But I should check around to find the best price. Does anyone know if this job can screwed up or is it pretty straight forward?

control arms, tie rods, cv boots for $600 shipped from several online vendors. If you have zero tools go spend $200 on what you need and spend a weekend having fun getting greasy and dirty Hell spend another $250 on a VAG-COM and Bentley manual and never pay someone again!

I got the whole control arms and tie rods for $500. you dont need any special tools to compress the struts as you just take them out as a whole.

entire process took me about 4 hours and I am a newbie. all you need is a good jack and a decent metric socket set.

good luck either way but I would not pay more than 1000 for parts and labor.
