Okay, I've logged a couple thousand miles in my 01 4.2, so the questions begin
First, the fog lights seem useless. They only come on with the xenons which almost entirely wash them out. Anybody have any suggestions on how to make them more powerful or otherwise useful?
Along the same lines, mine dont turn on unless the headlights are on even tho the button will pull out when just turned to where the corner lights are on. Is that just my car or is that another quirk? There are times, like a light drizzle, where the corner lights and fogs (no xennons) would be useful.
Seeking practical suggestions.

I did the fog rewire to operate without headlights...
this is a repost from Stoney's links, but with my own photos. Read the discussion thread, this did not work for everyone, some lost use of radio controls on steering wheel. Mine work, and I have MY 2001 2.7T with premium package (with the multifunction steering wheel).
I think you can "brighten" your fogs if you go to aftermarket bulbs. PIAA makes a H3 bulb that is really bright, almost looks xenon, but cost $80 a pair! Much too expensive for my taste. The bulbs I use I got off eBay, and are a bit brighter than stock H3, but still a bit yellow compared to the xenon headlights.
Good luck!<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/375675.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/375675.phtml</a</li></ul>
