OK guys need some input. My a6 4.2 is for sale,I need to look for a replacement car.Criteria inside
first it needs to have some power
must be 4 doors with room for baby's stuff
affordable maintenance(reason I am selling my 4.2)
also needs to be no more than $16,000(I need to keep payments under $300/month)
Cars I am looking at:
2005-06 Dodge Magnum r/t hemi
05-06 volvo s60 t5 or s6 r
Thanks for any input, much appreciated. I am really torn

I've had good luck with both Volvo's, but the Audi hasn't been bad either...$900 last year
The only maintenance item was for the dealer to replace the secondary coolant pump when I wimped out. In 2007 I spent $700 for the dealer to replace both CV boots/alignment. Would have been less with an independent. 2006 was a killer at $2,800 for the full timing belt/water pump/seals, etc job. So really, is the Audi that bad? Sure you'll hear the horror stories here, this is where come for advise, but the folks with good experiences and no expenses don't post.
If you're looking at a monthly payment of $300, you can do a lot of maintenance for that. You also know what you have now, a used car will be a question.
I'd also point out that the "slovo" (4driver4's name for our previous non-turbo model) is nowhere near as much fun as the Audi to drive.
Dodge? Would never, ever consider that. An engine as only as good as the car it's attached to.
Why take the bath on the 4.2?

volvos can be expensive too. Hemi, not so much except for TIRES!!! LOL.
Friend of mine has a magnum 375 hemi...eats tires every 15K.
The 425 hp hemi will be/is worse.
Why not buy a new Chevy Malibu? Unbeatable financing, low maintenance, maybe lose some face, but otherwise you're better off keeping the Audi 4.2

I am just thinking out loud if you will allow that. Now that the major maintenance is done ...
someone may want to buy the car. And if so I would like the input of my fellow audi enthusiasys and see what they would get if they were in my position.
Any input Stephen???

It's good that you provided the list. Here's what I see: you currently have
a car that probably meets all of your criteria:
4 doors, plenty of room for baby's stuff
plenty of power
you've done the maintenance
Why not enjoy the car for some time, and save your money? For the $300/month you are budgeting for your new ride you won't get anything near the quality of your current ride.
Just my $.02....
