1998 Audi A6 Quattro right HID out
Passenger side HID headlight had been cutting out intermittently for several months before finally failing to turn on at all.
Tried replacing the bulb, which was definitely burnt out, but that didn't fix the problem. Took it into the mechanic today for other problems and he said the igniter was bad and would need a complete replacement, totaling $800. Figured I'd try to explore additional options.
Is it possible to simple buy an igniter and replace it myself? How can I tell if the igniter is bad vs something else? Where is the best place to find spare HID parts?
