Default that's crazy. I'd of expected the exact opposite...

because cold air is more dense, hence more air in the combustion chamber, and better mileage... I think it would be compounded further by having a 2.7t...

Default It would depend on the warm up % time

Short stints = more rich running at cold, holding lower gears longer before converters light off, and lower mileage, and at 20 degrees and/or rainy days average speed may be lower on the same streets. If mix was mostly long trip cycles rather than shorter, warm up rich running wouldn't matter as much and the air (and fuel density when you pump it too) would come into play more.

Default when its colder out, i rev my engine higher...saying "oooooh good for turbos!"

so indeed i get a mpg average lower at colder temps too. LOL!

Default Although denser, colder air does not burn as efficiently as warmer air because the colder air...

needs to heated up as part of the combustion process. Hence, some of the energy from the ignited fuel-air mixture is used to heat up the air, i.e., lower gas mileage, to fully burn the mixture. That is why there is usually diverted hot air off of the exhaust manifold into the intake during cold engine startup. Once the engine has reach a certain minimum temperature, the intake air is heated directly prior to be introduced into the combustion chamber.

Default OMG that's some high MPG mark. Manual sound awesome. I have Tip and i get 70 miles out of 5.7 gallon

12MPG suck big time. Either way. Bad news just got into accident the other day look pretty bad will post pics later. If it's gone it's good riddance.

Default I only get that MPG is I'm extremely heavy on the gas....

I average about 21-22 for mixed, 24-28 for highway, and no lower than 19 city....

Default I have just returned from our anual trip to France - 1921 miles - average 27.1mpg.....

this is fully loaded but without a roof box this year - running on 98 octane mostly at 90 to 100 mph for the major part of the journey.

I changed the oil and fitted new air filter before leaving just to help a bit more.
