Lost memory seat function
Anyone know what controls the memory seats? Relay, control module? I couldn't see any fuses listed for this...
Out of nowhere it stopped working yesterday. The first sign of failure was when I pushed the button for my preset position and only the mirrors moved. But then not even that. It's as if all buttons are dead(1,2,3 and M). No more 'click' when I try to save the position.

Update: I took the switch off and connected another switch to test if the original switch was bad. And luckily the original switch is dead. The bad news is that the working switch is for the passenger side. I took both apart and I was going to switch the boards. It's a no go, unfortunately. There's a very little difference by the STOP button. Also the original switch board looks fine. I was hoping to find cracked soddered joints or loose. They all look good.
Another observation: the 'new' used switch has the memory seat positions from the other car. I thought the positions would be saved in the control module. The working switch also saves the lumbar support positions which my old one didn't do(another sign of it going).
I don't mind having to move the seat the way I want it, but my wife does. So I'm going to make her pay for the switch

Back in business :)
I picked up an used memory switch on flea bay for $15(Wolf Autopars, I think) and it works like a charm. I'm glad I didn't have to mess with the control module since it needs seat removal as far as I know...

Control module replacement doesn't require seat removal. Just the trim around the bottom of the seat. I replaced module on 2K4.2A6 last year in about two hours since I had never taken the module out. I thought it would require the seat removal and was well on the way to removing the seat but found that taking the trim off and tilting the seat back was sufficient.

It's good to know. Thanks for the heads up!
I tried to remove the trim and I couldn't figure it out how to do it, especially since it is tight and dark down there(I was in my garage at night). But if I really have to, I would put more effort into it(and light
