leaking valve cover gasket question

I completed a timing belt replacement, water pump, cam tensioner gasket etc. overhaul 60,000 k ago. Now I have oil leaks at various places at the valve cover gaskets. Can anyone tell me why this would happen at this point? I did also replace the spider hose during the over haul.

Bad parts, too tight, wrong sequence, and probably not thoroughly cleaned...

Some time ago there was a post regarding if your PVC system (I know it is not called that) was plugged that put additional pressure on other gaskets. Thus some oil leaks were a result of the extra pressure.
