Default labor cost for control arms?

Deteriorating ride and slight creaking sound at slow speeds makes me think it may be time for the dreaded control arm replacement. What should labor for installing a full Febi or Meyle kit run (I am in the NYC metro area)?

Where'd you find the torque spec. I couldn't find it in Bentley.

Nevermind. Just found it. I love how most times, Bentley stuff isn't exactly where you'd think.

Yes indeed. It's always a search for certain things with the Bentley =)

Default BTW, very powerful original post. I saw it when you first posted and filed it away in

the mental database.

Was recently trying to pin down some unspecified very minor looseness. Outer and inner tie rods were good along with all control arms.

Can't say that the rack screws were "loose" exactly but the one did take about 75 degrees on the wrench before hitting 67 nM and the looseness appears to be gone.

Great post!

Default Yeah it was funny to see because not one of the local Audi tech's could figure it out..

Sure enough some DIY guy like me figures it out before they do. My goal was to help other people with solving a very simple problem to fix and save some $$$ instead of taking it to the dealer.

Glad to see that it helped you!

Mine screws were a could 3-5 turns off...scary shiest that's for sure!
