Just bought a 2004 a6 3.0Q with 224k. One owner.
For $3700
The car is ****. Drives like new, looks like new, seats are like NEW.
Silver on black. Xenons, XM<-- with subscription , loaded
18" Mercedes after market wheels, looks great w/new rubber.
Brakes shake..
ONLY CODE was Catalytic converter warmup below efficiency-- cats are probably shot bc of miles. No problem, will put rear o2 spacers.
Front bumper is peppered, from the quarter million miles.
I bought it at an auction, and it was a new car trade in at the local audi dealer.
Now, I looked thru the maintenance booklet, and the timing belt was replaced at 85k. It now has 224k, so it MAYBE has 139k on the 'new' timing belt, now my question to you guys is, IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? I hear the 3.0 plastic water pump blades are weak, and can barely make it to 100k. I am just hoping it was replaced twice.
Also, the transmission shifts PERFECTLY, is this possible without a replacement at sometime @ 224k miles?
The car is perfect and will post pics soon!

Sounds like a great deal there! If you are unable to confirm that the TB was changed a
second time, I would get that done right away. Actually, even if it were done a second time, you are due for another TB - that's not a service item to skip on. And while in there, you can do the water pump, thermostat, idler pulley, and belt tensioner, as some of those items are prome to fail, even if the belt doesn't.
