Default Yep. Balloonists call that a "spash and dash".. Only this pilot fancies himself a daredevel...

he rode it in the water all the way over the waterfall, then burned hard to get enough lift to clear the covered bridge where I was standing when I took the photo.. Not a large gap between..

The backing plates get thin as paper if you use them long enough!
