Default That's what I wanted to guess... Are you serious?

Default no.. We use trucks to carry balloons.. A small balloon woudl fit, but the basket, not so much..

some guys use trailers, some guys use vans, some guys use trucks. I feel that an open truck is the best way, because you don't have to take the uprights off the basket, and you can carry people back to the launch site in the basket, which is legal in VT.

But the bigger balloons that we fly are pretty heavy (around 350lbs), it would not be fun trying to get it in the back of the car.

FWIW, in my sig pic, the balloon being inflated is not the one I crew for. If you look carefully at the car, there's a reflection of a RED dot, near the right tail light, and near the top of the D pillar. That's my balloon =-)

The one in the foreground is the one I crew for, it's 140,000 cubic feet. The basket can hold 7 adults (or about 1000 lbs give or take..)

I still do it the old way, with an impact gun and adapter to grab the slots in the piston...

Not to worry, just the passive wear sensors kicking in. Unless you ignore the warning!

Everytime I see your VT scenery pics I feel like taking a quick trip back to NH.

Default LOL. It's true. My 'crewbie' name is "BALLAST". I get to fly when there are only a couple...

of lightweight passengers. The 140k balloons get a little "squirrily" in the words of the pilot, when the load in the basket is too light.

So I get to fly, then leap out on touchdown to make good on my other nickname: "TUG"..
